May is here and the tour has begun! The touring lineup until further notice is, as pictured above: Igor Yuzov, Adam Gust, Elena Shemankova, Milka Ramos, Kfir Melamed, Oran Ben-Avi and Lior Ron. The Red Pages is happy to reiterate the news presented last month from Jamie in L.A., who works hard to help the band out. Jamie asked us to be sure and let you know that the Red Elvises merchandise page is getting revamped and will have a new online store, with new men's and women's shirts, new posters and more. The direct link to the store is www.redelvises.com/buystuff. Jamie told us the band is planning to have new videos up on YouTube regularly, and it is highly recommended to subscribe to the channel so you don't miss a thing! You can subscribe by visiting www.youtube.com/user/IgorAndRedElvises. Happy video viewing! Jamie is currently in the process of contacting people along the route of the tour to see what she can send "Red Army" volunteers for promotion. Jamie says, "Fans are welcome to email me if they would like to be recruited." Jamie's email is jamievercauteren@gmail.com. Join the Red Army and help promote shows in your area. For all of you with Facebook accounts: Red Elvises are on Facebook! If you don't already have a Facebook account, now is a good time to get one. Just go to www.facebook.com and sign up. Social networking can be fun. Jamie also wanted you all to know, on iLike you can now cast your vote for Red Elvises to "Come to my town." You can tell all your family members and friends to vote too! And lastly (for this issue), the big red van is still for sale. How cool would it be to own THIS:
All questions and/or offers should be sent to jamievercauteren@gmail.com. Here's your chance to own a big giant piece of band history. We have some new photos for you, including some from Russia, some great ones from their April performance on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, where Oleg played with them, and, as promised, some of your humble Editor's photos from the April 18th Rusty's show. So be sure and check those out. Igor and Red Elvises have started their big Spring tour! Be sure to check the Tour Schedule, as well as Igor and Red Elvises' website and Myspace page, Don't forget to check out the great videos in the video section; the three newest, all amazing, from the April 18th Rusty's show, are linked for your viewing pleasure. Also, you can watch the April 25th Seattle show on Synclive.com, it's also linked in the videos section. If you had a great time at a show and want to tell other fans about it, please submit your show write-ups (it doesn't have to be Shakespeare!) to the Red Pages so you can share the fun of the show you attended If you like to take lots of pictures at any shows you can make it to, please remember The Red Pages that way too. We can't all get to all the shows, so let us see your photos and read your stories, to live vicariously through you for a night here and there. SPECIAL NOTICE: Speaking of fan input, which this fanzine has always been all about and for which we have always begged... Frankly, it's not been happening so much for the past few years. Although, for this issue, HUGE heartfelt thanks go out to Alex Moy, Maya Madrid, Venjamin Bakalinkskiy and Lisa Dawn Bennett for sharing their great photos! You all rock! Now we all know the band is great, and we all have lots of fun at their shows, so it's a mystery why more people don't participate and support the fanzine. In light of this, The Red Pages is going to a quarterly format, effective with the July 2009 issue, which will be the next issue. For this year, the April and May issues will serve as the second quarter. If necessary, in-between updates may occur, so you may want to check in from time to time anyway. Any questions can be directed to your Editor at kayt110*earthlink.net (substitute @ for the *). And, lastly, if there is anyone out there who would like to truly help with this fanzine and become the new Assistant Editor, write to me and let's talk. Requirements are: 1) Knowledge of at least the basics of HTML, 2) Willingness to work with deadlines, 3) Commitment for coming up with ideas and active participation issue after issue, NOT just one or two issues, 3) Love and devotion to the band (comfort with contacting one or more band members wouldn't hurt either) and, hopefully, 4) A good sense of humor and good ideas. Applications accepted indefinitely or until someone mans, or womans, up. Have a happy May, and don't drink too much on Cinco de Mayo (save that for Red Elvises shows!), |
