The Red Elvises blew yours truly out of his P.F. FLYERS [the night of October 14th] at
THE LION'S DEN in NYC!!
I think this line-up: ELENA, IGOR, OLEG, ROMAN, & ADAM....is
wonderful. The playing seemed tighter than ever. The fun spirit
coming off the stage was amazingly strong. The energy between the
band members seemed more in sync than I have witnessed in a long long
time. Yeah, in a nutshell: POWERFUL!
I appreciate the personal warmth received from the band members. I
got there as they were loading in, and gave as much help as they'd let me.
People....if they are swinging through your town, or not too far away
on this leg of their 2007 tour....I would urge you to make plans to
catch them live.
They sang a handful of songs in Russian, as there seemed to be a high
Russian audience presence (I never heard "GYPSY HEART" sung in Russian,
for instance...and I dug it immensely).
Special shout out to ELENA -- my God, you looked so damn sexy, and
your playing was wondrous!! and ROMAN -- man, some killer riffs,
dude...and some nifty dance moves as well!!!
I know IGOR had some issues with his pedals/amp towards the end of the
show....but it did not interfere with the performance at all (in case
he is reading this...I wanted him to know).
