Vol. 8, Issue 8 August 1, 2007
The Red Pages

Greetings, Red Elvises Fans!

Hard to believe it's already August! Where has the first half of this year gone so fast? August is a special month because Oleg's birthday, August 15th, is in it! Here's what I gave him, a little early this year, for his birthday:

Happy Birthday! It's a crawdaddy!

Have any of you given anyone - band member or otherwise - a Red Elvises-inspired gift? Write and tell us about it! Send pictures too! Your story may be chosen to appear in a future Red Pages issue!

Okay, business before any more pleasure... In Allentown at the end of that show in June, Oleg made a special announcement concerning Musikfest and I want to repeat the information here. Some of you may have noticed Red Elvises are not on the Musikfest schedule this August. The band's tour in Russia is NOT the reason for that; the real reason lies with the Musikfest organizers themselves. And they need to hear from all of YOU! Please contact Musikfest about this and let them know if you're upset that they're not having Red Elvises play that festival this August. Musikfest needs to know how popular Red Elvises are and how much people want to see them there each year! To email Musikfest write to: info@fest.org or call them at (610) 332-1300, or you can fax them at (610) 861-2644. If you want to do it the old fashioned way and write them a letter, their street address is: 25 W. Third St., Bethlehem, PA 18015. Their website is www.musikfest.org. That should cover it. Do it for Red Elvises.

Now, for the pleasure... We have a lot of goodies for you this month... Los Angeles actor Lee Sapaden went to the July Rusty's Surf Ranch show with some of his friends and wrote about the experience. We welcome stories like this and are always excited to have people become new fans, of course, so good job, Lee!

We have some new photos for you too. Not as many as last month but some of us had quite a lot of fun in sunny Southern California so here's the photographic evidence. (Names were not changed; there were no innocents!). Please join me in thanking Jamie for sharing her cool pics with us!

Our Fan of the Month for August recently enjoyed seeing Red Elvises at the Pourhouse in Raleigh, NC. That was a fun show! Girls who want to be Fan of the Month, we know you're out there! June and July were both guys as is August, and I know that the wearers of the Fan of the Month Virtual Red Crown for the next couple of months will also be male (As I look into my red crystal ball and see... that's a teaser, woooo!). Nothing at all wrong with enthusiastic male fans - you guys are all great!!! - but after all that male bonding I'm sure we'll be ready for some girly input, so nominate yourselves, your sisters, your friends, your moms, your aunts, your neighbors... Oh, uh, maybe don't want to get too carried away there!

We have a new guitar tab, for Sad Cowboy Song, so check that out. Thanks, Chicken Blood! If any of you other talented guitar players would like to tab any Red Elvises songs and share those with us, we'd love you forever. And we'll give you a dollar...no, just kidding about the dollar! But the love will never die... Likewise, if anyone wants to make some new mp3 files, we'd love that too! Also, the FAQ page has been updated, as has the Hair page. More pages will be updated soon!

As promised, this month we have a special feature, "Q&A On the Road" - questions put to band members about little things fans want to know!

We also have a new category, "Fun Stuff," where you can try out your puzzling and gaming skills! ("I sure hope these work!" said the anxious Editor!). Try them out and let me know (email address on the Contact page) if you enjoy them or have any problems. We plan to add more games and things like that in the future.

Things may be a little "quiet" on American shores, at least for the next couple of months because Red Elvises are going to Russia, Siberia and Ukraine to play for lucky people in that part of the world! But in the second half of September they start their next U.S. tour so get your plans - and cameras! - ready for those shows! In the meantime, hope you enjoy the August issue!

Wishing you all Hot RED August nights!
