Why Red Elvises is a Great Band
Band and Fans Together Make For a Great Experience!

So you want to know why Our Favorite Band is so great? I’m sure you have a pretty good idea
already, especially based on what some previous Fans of the Month have said in answer to the
question, “What is it that you like most about Red Elvises (this is only a small sampling, chosen
randomly, and some answers were made a little shorter than they originally were):”
“The music. Whether I'm listening to them live at a show or on a CD in the car, their music is so great. Great lyrics, beats, melodies, humor -- "Sex In Paradise" and "A Keg Of Beer And Potato Chips" come to mind) and their unique style. However, I think it's their versatility that makes them exceptional... -- K-Dog

So I think that what these astute individuals and many more have had to say sums up nicely why the band is so well loved; they are fiercely talented musicians who play the ultimate kick ass rockenrol and are truly incredibly nice to everyone in the process! A lot of people have also mentioned their accessibility as a factor. If you go to a Rolling Stones concert, yes, they are a great and venerable band, but you can’t really go up to them between sets or after a show and say “Hey, great show, dudes!” Well, not unless you have some really powerful connections, that is, or maybe you owe Mick Jagger some money. When you’re at a Red Elvises show you can, though, and you need no connections except those things already connected to you – feet and mouth, so you can walk right over to them and say “Hey, great show, dudes!” Going to a show where you can drink some beer, dance your ass off to fun music and hang out with the guys in the band, now that just makes the whole concert experience that much more memorable, doesn’t it?
One other reason I think this band is all that and a keg of beer and a bag of chips, though, is their strong and loyal fanbase. I’ve always said that Red Elvises has the best fans in the world, and I’ve met a lot of fans of various bands in my time. Red Elvises fans tend to be highly intelligent, ready to party, willing to share opinions, fun-loving terrific people all around. A major part of any band’s success is their popularity with fans, and with Red Elvises loved by people everywhere in the world they can’t go wrong.
So, as Red Elvises fans happy and ready to support Our Favorite Band, what can we do to show them, and the world, how much we enjoy the music and camaraderie of these guys? Glad you asked! Here is a short list of ways you can exercise your fan muscle, because, even though the band is out of the U.S. at the moment, they are coming home soon and will begin their U.S. tour, heading up the west coast this summer, and you want to be in shape to support them well, don’t you? It’s pretty easy, really, and fun too!
 Go to shows when possible – dance, drink, have great time
Tell your friends about them
Take & share pics with other fans by submitting your pictures to this fanzine, The Red
Pages
Get involved with other fans if you want, by coming to Red Chat on Tuesday nights. There’s
a link to it from the fanzine’s main page each month or from the
band’s website. Or, if Tuesday isn’t good for you just
sign up for the email list and then send an email to the list whenever you have time to pop
into the chat room and hopefully someone else with some time to chat may see it and join you!
Write concert reviews of shows you’ve seen and submit them to The Red Pages. It doesn’t
have to be Shakespeare or anything elaborate, just write it down just like you’d tell your
friends about the great time you had. You won’t even get counted off for spelling!
Nominate yourself or a friend to be a Fan of the Month! Number of times you’ve seen them
isn’t the most important criteria, enthusiasm is! And if you’re reading this I figure you’re
fairly enthusiastic, so if you haven’t been a Fan of the Month before, go nominate yourself (or
a deserving friend) today! All it involves is answering some interview questions via email,
sort of like filling out a survey, and then you get to wear the virtual red crown of fan
recognition for an entire month, whatta deal, huh?!
You may be able to think of other ways... I'll leave it to you, creative and innovative bunch that you are!
So, to sum it all up, Red Elvises is a great band because of the guys IN the band, their talent, drive, great personalities, sense of humor and of course, fine fine music, but also because they have the greatest fans on the planet! Consider yourselves saluted!
