The Top 10 Reasons for Coming to Red Chat

10. Red Chat is free and easy, just come on in and type! The chatroom we currently use is easy
to access; you can come in as a Guest without having to register with anything (unless you want
to register, then you can upload a photo!). And we have webcam capability in there, complete
with video and audio, so if you choose, you can be seen AND heard, or just watch someone else
who is sitting there typing and staring at his/her computer monitor! And did I mention the cute
emoticons? You can smile, laugh, wink, cry... AND type in various colors (including red, woohoo!) with various effects like bolding or italics...
whatta deal! The best in free entertainment...not much entertainment is free (or easy) these
days.
9. Tuesday night television couldn’t possibly be as entertaining as chatting with Red Elvises
fans...and if it is, that’s what Tivo and VCRs are for, right? I love my Tivo!!
8. Other chat rooms are full of people asking “Where’s everybody from?” and “sex/age?” and
other inane questions...not to mention trying to get you to privately IM and/or do things you
only need one hand to do...uh...ahem... Anyway...most of us already know each other in Red Chat
and we won’t hit on you. If we don’t already know you, we’re a friendly bunch; we may ask you
where you’re from but we’re not all that hung up on sex and age...well, not on age, anyway...
7. You’re really bored and feel like talking to some people who are into some of the same
music you are... Why not harmlessly kill an hour or two typing about why you’re into a great
band like Red Elvises? Or... you’re really bored and feel like talking to some people who may
be into some of the same movies, books, pets, hobbies, food or beer as you are. We don’t
just talk about music and Red Elvises in Red Chat, you know... Well, not ALL the time,
anyway. We can be diverse, just bring on the topic!
6. You just saw Red Elvises play in your town and you’ve GOT to talk about them to other
people who will understand! Have no fear, Red Chat is Your Favorite Chatroom!
5. You miss Red Elvises ‘cos they haven’t played in your town in a long while and you want to
talk to other people who’ll understand. Red Chat is your haven...you can cry here, and laugh
and sigh here, and soon it’ll be time for the guys to play your town again! Then you can attend
for Reason #8.
4. You kinda think maybe, but you’re not yet completely sure, that you just might want to be a
Fan of the Month, or you think your friend could be perfect for it and you want to know more
about it... If you come to Red Chat and I’m there (Rocketgirl_Kayt, your humble Red Pages Photo
Editor and creator of Fan of the Month) your chances of being put on the spot and recruited for
that honor will increase about 1,000%. I’m usually there, unless I’m out of town going to a Red
Elvises show. And I don’t bite...if you’re not into it I won’t keep bugging you, no worries. Of
course, you can always send an email to redelvisesfotm@yahoo.com and nominate yourself or a
friend, but chatting about it is ever so much more entertaining, especially for those who enjoy
being put on the spot in a roomful of people. (It’s really not that bad, some people enjoy it!)
3. You met some cool people at a Red Elvises show recently or a while back and you wonder if
you might be able to talk to them again in Red Chat. Go ahead, email them and see if they’ll
meet you in the chatroom! Or if you don’t have the right email addresses just pop on in and see
if your new friends or anyone else cool is in Chat. Ya never know...you might like us “regulars.”
2. You’ve heard that sometimes band members venture into Red Chat and chat with fans...is it
just a rumor or could that really happen?! With Red Elvises as Your Favorite Band there is
always that possibility! It is true, it has happened in the past, not once but many
times, and although it’s impossible to predict when or if it might happen again, if we’re lucky
it will. One night while the guys were on the road Oleg popped in for a few minutes to say “hi”
a couple of hours before showtime before heading off for a pre-show nap! Last
Minute Breaking News: It DID happen again! On 2/28/06, the night before this article went to press
(and literally, WHILE it was going to press!) Oleg visited the chatroom and chatted with us all
the way from Thailand! Complete with webcam, so we got see him and family! Elvis is one cute
baby!! So, it's true, you never know who will be there.
1. And the Number One reason for coming to Red Chat is...(drum roll, please...) It’s FUN! And we need you there....did you ever go to a party only to find you’re
the only guest?
No? Just me?
Just kidding...but the point is, the more people chatting, the
more fun – that’s true of chatrooms as well as parties! And Red Chat can be like a party; it’s
a great way to catch up with old friends, make some new ones and support Your Favorite Band all
at the same time. If you want to discuss favorite songs, we’re here... If you want to tell
others what a great time you had at a show, tell us! If you have ideas or thoughts on what
you’d like to hear played at a show or what you’d love the band to record or do in the future,
share it with us! No promises on your dream coming true, of course, but you may find someone
else agrees with you or wants to talk about it, even if all you feel like talking about is what
you had for lunch or your cat Fluffy. No topic is “off topic,” and as long as you keep it
relatively clean you can talk about pretty much anything you want in Red Chat (we are
pretty much no more than “R” rated, at worst...but who really needs to get more graphic than
that on a Tuesday night, right? All we ask is that if you go get a beer you bring enough for
everyone! Virtual beers all around!
So, to sum it all up... Communication is a Good Thing! And communication with other Red Elvises
fans is a very good – and fun – thing! So if you can make it, come join us on Tuesday nights.

but can some other night, make a suggestion and if enough people want to chat on an alternate
night maybe we can get together in Red Chat then too. It would also be great if we got in the
habit of popping into the chatroom just whenever the mood hits, and then if enough people did
that chances are that spontaneous chatting could start happening at any given time on any given
day! Wouldn’t that be fun?!

out the time difference, sorry...). Ending time is whenever everyone is done chatting for the
night...sometimes it lasts two hours, sometimes four, sometimes in-between:
