Fan of the Month!

Our Fan of the Month for August is a native California girl who now makes her home
in New Mexico. She gets to Southern California as often as she can, though, and on one of
those visits attended a Red Elvises show. Needless to say, she got hooked on them right
away and plans to see more of them! So here's her story...

For the record, what is your name?
Lisa Dawn Bennett
Where were you born, and where did you grow up?
Pomona, California. Grew up in Chino Hills [California]
What were your main interests, entertainment and otherwise, growing up? Any obsessions
you don’t mind people knowing about?
Loved to dance, hang out at the beach.

Tell us about your musical endeavors and any musical instruments you play…
Never been very musical. Live vicariously through my children who are musically gifted.
What accomplishments are you most proud of at this point in your life?
Graduating with my criminal justice certificate. Raising five good children.
What are your favorite movies?
“The Lost Boys,” “Bram Stoker’s Dracula,” “Chicago,” “Moulin Rouge”
Do you have any favorite books?
All the Harry Potter books, Stephen King books, Ann McCaffrey
What music are you into, in addition to Red Elvises?
Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, anything from the ‘80s from the Stray Cats to Siouxsie and the Banshees
When, where, how, etc. did you first hear and experience Red Elvises?
Called Rusty’s to see about the Red Elvises. The guy who answered highly suggested seeing them.
I was taking my daughter to California to buy her prom dress. Saw them at Rusty’s...
About how many times have you seen them?
Only once
What is it about Red Elvises that draws you to them, that you like the most?
Their beach sound and they’re easy on the eyes.
What’s the farthest you’ve traveled to see them? And do you have a good story around
that?
Over 800 miles. Just that I braved California traffic — and would again — to see them perform.
Any other great memories of the show you saw?
Just the one show, but it will probably always be my favorite.
What are your favorite Red Elvises songs?
“I Wanna See You Belly Dance,” “Love Pipe,” “Closet Disco Dancer”
What would you like to see them do in the future? Any ideas? Anything you’d
like to say to the band?
Would love to see them come to Alamogordo, or someplace close, maybe Las Cruces. That I love
your music, don’t ever change.
Okay, last question… Do you have anything you’d especially like to say to all the fans?
The Red Elvises are worth seeing wherever and whenever you get the chance.
