Fan of the Month!
Interviewed by Kayt
We have a California native for our November Fan of the Month, this time from
Southern California, specifically "the O.C." - Orange County. She's a very enthusiastic
Red Elvises fan and hopes to make it to a Rusty's show in the future. Join me in welcoming
Terry...she'll wear her virtual red tiara with pride, I'm sure!
For the record, what is your name?
Terry Christenson
Where were you born, and where did you grow up?
Born in Hollywood, CA (always wanted to be a star but never was discovered... LOL),
grew up in La Mirada, CA (Orange County)
What were your main interests, entertainment and otherwise, growing up? Any
obsessions you don’t mind people knowing about?
When I was growing up rock concerts were the thing to do, along with going to the beach and
hanging with your friends. No, I was never a “closet disco dancer” if that’s what you are
asking…
Tell us about your musical endeavors and any musical instruments you play…
Let’s see, I played an accordion for about one week and guitar for about two years but the
kazoo was the instrument I really took to, and I love to sing, especially to The Red Elvii.
What accomplishments are you most proud of at this point in your life?
My life is a happy one; I have two sons. My oldest, Mojo (as he is called), is the one who
introduced me to Red Elvises and he’s also in the music business. And my other son, Jess, is
a college man soon to graduate Cal State Fullerton. My favorite accomplishment is my husband
Pete; we have been together since we were 14 and 15 and we are still best friends.
What are your favorite movies?
“Peggy Sue got Married.” I loved the cars, clothes and the fun…I’m a sucker for happy endings.
Do you have any favorite books?
I’ve been enjoying Jennifer Krousie’s books, they are fun to read.
What music are you into, in addition to Red Elvises?
I like the B52’s, Garbage, Republica just to name a few. I love happy music I can sing to.
When, where, how, etc. did you first hear and experience Red Elvises?
As I said before my oldest son turned me on to the Red Elvises. His friend Rhodes is the one
who sent me the latest album.
About how many times have you seen them?
As often as I can, man!
What is it about Red Elvises that draws you to them, that you like the most?
I love their style, sound, and overall magnetism.
What’s the farthest you’ve traveled to see them? And do you have a good story around
that?
No, I wish I did!
Which show is your favorite of the RE shows you've seen?
I really liked seeing them at the Blue Café in Long Beach -- it was like they were in my own living room.
Any other standout, all time great memories of shows you’ve seen so far?
The Lobsterfest is always fun great food and I just love the entertainment!
What are your favorite Red Elvises songs?
“My Love is Killing Me,” “Closet Disco Dancer,” “Got a Condom in my Pocket” ("Love Rocket"),
“Belly Dance…” and more!
What would you like to see them do in the future? Any ideas? Anything you’d like to say
to the band?
I love you guys, you give a whole new meaning to leopard!
Okay, last question… Do you have anything you’d especially like to say to all the fans?
Keep listening so the band will stay forever!
Wondering how YOU can become a future Fan of the Month? It's very easy!
