Fan of the Month!
Interviewed by Kayt

Our Fan of the Month for September is another California girl who, although she moved away as a young child, got back to Southern California as soon as possible! But seriously, folks...she may be young but she's already a huge fan of Red Elvises. Everyone remembers the band at the first concert they ever attended, and for this Fan of the Month it was...well, I won't tell you, just read on... Welcome, Amy, September's Fan of the Month!

For the record, what is your name?
Amy

Where were you born, and where did you grow up?
Well I was born in Los Angeles California, then I moved to Pennsylvania for basically all my life and just this year I moved back with my mother and sister to LA again. But I still go and visit PA every so often.

What were your main interests, entertainment and otherwise, growing up? Any obsessions you don’t mind people knowing about?
All my life I’ve loved entertainment. My dad and I always listened to music and watched movies together and we had so much fun! He’s the reason why I love music and love movies. My dad, sister and I were obsessed with watching the show X-Files. Even though I thought it was scary when I was little I still loved the show. And I also can’t forget my greatest friend Tara who’s the one who got me into the Red Elvises in the first place. She TRULY LOVES them! But so do I!

Tell us about your musical endeavors and any musical instruments you play…
Well I never really liked playing it but I played the clarinet and I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE to sing I’ve been in choir classes ever since I was in middle school! And now I’m a sophomore so I’ve been singing going on four years.

What accomplishments are you most proud of at this point in your life?
Well I don’t think I have accomplished really anything yet but you could ask me that in a couple of years and I would tell you that I graduated from high school and am going to college at NYU, but no accomplishments yet!!

What are your favorite movies?
My favorite movies are all movies except romance movies - I hate those, they’re so lame. But I especially love comedies like the Movie “Super Troopers” and “Club Dread” - both of those movies are made by the same people and those movies are hilarious!!

Do you have any favorite books?
Well I would have to say out of the few books that I have read… because I am not a reader, I hate reading! But I would have to say my favorite book is “The A to Z Encyclopedia of Serial Killers.” It’s very good. I love to read informative books. Right now I have to read books for school so I chose this book “Aliens, Ghosts, and Cults” and its pretty good so far!

What music are you into, in addition to Red Elvises?
Well, in addition to Red Elvises I would have to say the old punk rock. I would have to say I love this stuff because my dad got me into it. He listened to the Sex Pistols, The Ramones, and like Bad Religion. Stuff like that. But I mean I do listen to the new bands too. I mean, I like all music but I don’t like RAP. No rap for me!

When, where, how, etc. did you first hear and experience Red Elvises?
Well, when I first heard them I was at my friend Tara’s house and she had a poster of them naked on her wall and then she popped in their CD and I don’t know why but it sounded great! SO she told me they were playing in Santa Monica in a few months and she said she was going so I told her that I would go with her too! Then five months later Tara and I were standing up front rockin’ out with the Red Elvises! I was like the greatest experience that I have ever experienced! And I haven’t stopped listening to Red Elvises ever since!

About how many times have you seen them?
I have only seen the Red Elvises two times!

What is it about Red Elvises that draws you to them, that you like the most?
Their sense of style and how funny they are!

What’s the furthest you’ve traveled to see them? And do you have a good story around that?
Only to Santa Monica. I don’t drive yet so I can only go when it’s a not-so-far-away distance! But when I start to drive, which will be this year when I get back in school, I will make sure I will go to a lot more concerts!

Which show is your favorite out of all the Red Elvises shows you've seen?
I would have to say the first show I went to! I don’t know why… I think it was because I was with my friend and because of just the thrill of going to my first concert ever!!

Any other standout, all time great memories of shows you’ve seen so far?
Well, Red Elvises was the first concert I’ve been to!

What are your favorite Red Elvises songs?
“Rocketman” and “Love Rocket.” I guess I just like rockets!!!

What would you like to see them do in the future? Any ideas? Anything you’d like to say to the band?
I don’t know. I just want them to stay the same kick ass rock n’ roll band! And not to get too popular because then I won’t have the thrill of talking about them and then introducing all my friends to the Red Elvises music!

Okay, last question… Do you have anything you’d especially like to say to all the fans?
Keep loving Red Elvises!

Thanks very much, Amy, for sharing your thoughts with us and being Fan of the Month!!
