Red Elvises at The Swiss

Posing with Igor We had such a great time that night that I even broke my camera from wild kick-ass, Siberian dancing. I think it was during Rocket Man that my digital camera flipped out of my pocket and crashed to the floor. The crash disabled the flash feature so all the shots that I took had motion blurs. In retrospect, it added a bit of an artsy look to the belly dancers moves and gyrations and come to think of it that’s about how my vision was after consuming “six pack of beer.” The photo report should be entitled “Red Elvises Through Six Pack Glasses!”

The band (and the belly dancers) interacted so well with the audience you would have to have been in a coma not to have had fun. We had a group of fifteen from the ages of 25 to 40-ish. We are from around the Olympia, Washington area and we will all be back for the December gigs in Tacoma (The Swiss) and Seattle (Tractor).

The fan base is growing! Whenever we have house parties, Red Elvises get the place a rockin’ and dancin!’ We have even taken Red Elvises CDs to DJ-hosted clubs in western and eastern Washington and convinced them to play “Rocketman” and “I Wanna See You Belly Dance”(with intro). Those songs have all been enthusiastically received by dance floor revelers and DJs have made inquiries about the group. Perhaps someday they will play in Olympia.

If the Red Pages is ever interested in featuring a “geriatric” fan group we would be the ones.....sliding down the backside of 41 we still enjoy Siberia’s brand of rock ‘n roll in spite of our being “youth challenged.” Guess who’s our favorite rock ‘n roll band?
